The Nanny Diaries (2007)

Dirrected by: Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini
Genre: Comedy/ Drama/ Romance
Rating: PG-13
Time: 106 mins.
Summary: A college graduate goes to work as a nanny for a rich Upper East Side New York City family. While living in a little less than comfortable part of their apartment, she has to juggle their dysfunction, a new romance, and the spoiled brat in her charge.

Review: Sometimes movies based on books tend to be dissapointments. The Nanny Diaries, based on the book by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus was definatly not one of those movies. I was so impressed with how well Scarlett Johansson (Annie "Nanny" Braddock) and Laura Linney (Mrs.X) porayed their roles. The cast of the movie ranges from Paul Giamatti (Remember him from Big Fat Liar with Frankie Muniz in 2002?) to singer/pianist Alicia Keys. From the begining of the movie to the ending credits you are on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next to Annie Braddock in her crazy world made up of the two boys she loves more than anything, and everyingthing else the the crazy Upper Eastside holds. You must see The Nanny Diaries!
